Don't rush your purchase—we're almost there with the new release. For gamers, the 3000 series or higher is ideal. The 3600 isn't bad for video editing, though it runs a bit slower. Unless you're working full-time on it, it probably doesn't matter much.

the 2700x and 3600 models perform quite similarly in many games. the 3600 edges slightly ahead, though the 2700x offers improved performance on multiple cores. if the 2700x is more affordable—there were used units under $150 recently—it makes a solid bargain.

To save around $25, the Ryzen 3700X works well. Both models use one fully functional 8-core chiplet, but the 3700X offers higher base and turbo speeds. The 3700X costs $274.00. That’s my take.

Expect two 4-core chiplets, essentially merging two 3300x dies into one. We're aiming for a single 8-core chiplet using Zen 3, which would be really impressive.

It varies depending on the perspective. The 3600 offers roughly a 10% boost over the 2700x in gaming speed, which may seem modest, but the 9900k is only slightly faster than the 3600 and receives praise for its performance. Most users who edit videos don’t prioritize gaming speed enough to trade it for better editing, especially with higher refresh rates. That’s what I’ve observed in this community.

if you don't wait for zen 3 you'll likely regret it, the possibility of 2000 fclk with 4.7 zen 3 will blow every current cpu out of the water. (one can dream). october 8th
