Intel is keen on meeting third-party manufacturer needs for various solutions, which is why we offer more Intel motherboard models than AMD. This strategy helps sustain the business. It works for AM4 as well, since older chipset models don’t support advanced features like PCIe 4 for Ryzen 5000. Ultimately, we can use all AM4 CPUs, which is beneficial for consumers but not ideal from a business perspective.

They prefer avoiding complaints about CPUs failing at stores because older boards require BIOS updates. AMD has mail-in bootkits to consider.
Upgrades happen infrequently—most folks don’t change annually.
Those who do tend to seek the latest features on upcoming models.

Wouldn't be able to use an outdated board with basic capabilities and a modern CPU. They wouldn't function properly, making it pointless. My basic power board isn't equipped to run a new generation CPU, particularly given how quickly technology advances. A decent old board with a CPU but still using DDR5 won't keep up over time. The same applies to NVMe, which is far better suited for all uses than clinging to outdated components just to support one new feature.
