It will function, though performance will be restricted to 2133 MHz.

The chip will continue performing efficiently well past 2133mhz. I previously boosted RAM speed on my G4400: the main constraint was the motherboard, which can't handle memory frequency increases. The 2133mhz cap comes from that board.

It's interesting I discovered this discussion earlier too. I thought getting a Z chipset wouldn't work with the G4400, but since the person mentioned they could afford it, I guess I was fine.
