Do you think upgrading from an i7 3770 to an i7 4770 would be a good choice? Could a newer CPU like the 4770 fit in a Dell OptiPlex 7010 that currently has an i7 3770? This is the information from Speccy about the motherboard and CPU.

It's not such a big deal. The investment and effort seem unnecessary given the modest performance improvement you'll see at Haswell compared to your current IvyBridge. Are you looking for a specific benefit from this upgrade? If it's for gaming, it might be better to switch platforms and consider selling or reusing your existing Dell OEM.

4770 operates on another connector, which means it won't function. You already possess the fastest cup it can utilize.

I aimed to enhance my video editing workflow with DaVinci Resolve, focusing on quicker exports and a smoother editing process. The CPU appears to be the main issue, especially when running GTA V on my PC.

Your motherboard supports socket 11 55, so only compatible CPUs can be used. The i7 4xxx requires socket 11 50, making it incompatible with your board.

Upgrading the CPU isn't feasible right now; you'd need a new motherboard and it's not worth it unless you really need more performance.

It seems the current setup is quite outdated, so upgrading to a modern device would be a smart move. Converting the OptiPlex into an HTPC could work well.
