Hey everyone, here are my quick questions: 1. Is Intel still leading in Adobe software? By how much? I recall a chart suggesting the gap has narrowed with newer models like the 3960, 3970, and 3990 series, but does that matter for desktop CPUs? 2. If Intel holds an edge in Adobe, does it extend to other video editors such as Resolve 16 or Vegas Pro?

A slight improvement here, only a minor increase. 2) You can explore Puget Systems for solid reviews across various programs: https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articl...ries-1538/ Short answer: Both options perform well, AMD could edge out in certain areas while Intel shines elsewhere, but overall results are comparable. This is the take for Davinci Resolve.

This was mainly about Quicksync; without it, the performance gap narrowed. https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended...mendations Other programs previously lacked Quicksync support, making the comparison more about core count versus clock speed, much like Adobe Premiere. https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended...mendations AMD performs exceptionally in Davinci Resolve, especially with the 3700X and 9900K models (though the latter excels in single-core tasks elsewhere).

Adobe software options vary widely in complexity and processing needs. Some tools run efficiently or with minimal threads, giving Intel a slight edge. Others, like Premiere and After Effects, rely heavily on multiple cores and GPU resources, making it hard to generalize. Puget systems has conducted thorough testing across these applications if you need more specifics.

Focused on Premiere Pro and After Effects, with minor Photoshop work.

In short: High single-core performance favors Intel due to faster clocks. Multithreading wins with AMD. A few exceptions exist, but the trend remains clear.

I'd focus mainly on the premiere and post-processing scores, thinking they strongly support AMD because of its superior multi-threaded capabilities. The minor edge Intel holds in single-threaded performance is already negligible, especially if you're not using those tasks frequently.
