You're weighing two options: the Intel i5-13600K and the KF. The KF lacks an integrated graphics card, so you'll need to consider if that's a concern for your workloads. Your current setup includes a 1060 6GB GPU and plans to upgrade to the 3070 later. Given your use of games, animation/Blender, and video editing, the i5-13600K might offer better performance for those tasks compared to the KF.

The encoder in the Intel iGPU performs marginally better than NVENC on a 3000 series card and notably outperforms NVENC on your current GPU, though overall the advantage of an iGPU is mainly for troubleshooting when the main GPU encounters issues.

It makes sense not to make too big a change by switching to KF. I was also thinking about the Noctua NH-D15, but it matches the highest case height you have, so NH-U12A might be a better fit.

Consider your current needs and the available options before deciding whether to upgrade your CPU now or hold off.

iGPU works well for fixing issues when your graphics card fails. If that's not an option, you can choose any CPU you like. The CPU cooler should be set to 165mm. RAM height influences the second fan placement, so adjust accordingly. NH-D15 (noctua.at)

Yes, I suggest considering the Noctua NH-U12A as a better option.
