Hey guys,
I’m dealing with unstable CPU temperatures and higher than usual idle readings. After installing MSI’s Gaming App + Afterburner, I was asked if I wanted to let it control the VGA fan. I said yes. Over two days, I saw the CPU idling between 38°C and 42°C, reaching up to 85°C. Before the app was installed, my idle temps were around 27°C to 30°C, and full load reached 78°C to 80°C. After uninstalling both software, I didn’t change any settings except for VGA control permission. The heatsink looks properly attached. Any suggestions?

I’m running:
Asus Maximus IX Formula
Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2 + Corsair H100i v2
MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X 11G

Your temperatures are elevated... It might be because the fans are running at a lower setting than ideal for your setup. You could increase their speed and check if that improves things...
