Hello everyone! I bought an Intel i7-13700K and finished configuring my system. After that, I tried running Cinebench 23 and Prime95 (Small Preset). The CPU hit 100°C right away. Is this normal for this model? Or is the silicon performance bad? Should I consider returning it if needed? I've noticed some users say their i7-13700K starts at around 85-90°C out of the box. My Corsair H150i Elite (360mm AIO) is being used as cooling. Any advice or information would be appreciated! Thanks ahead.

Possible reasons:
1. The AIO pump isn't functioning, possibly due to missing PWM connection or a faulty unit.
2. Insufficient mounting pressure on the CPU, with uneven support.
3. Insufficient thermal paste application.
4. Problems with airflow circulation.

The AIO Pump functions properly, showing clear spinning and speed adjustments with different profiles. In BIOS it maintains a temperature range of 35-38°C. Thermal paste was applied uniformly to the CPU's IHS during removal for pump replacement. Temperatures rise quickly without affecting airflow, despite using two 140mm intakes and four exhaust fans. Testing on another system with CB23 produced identical results. After removing the AIO to reapply paste, both motherboards failed (new units), and the CPU's debug LED stayed active with no display or boot feedback. I completed the RMA process after trying all troubleshooting steps.

Using the motherboard's auto voltage settings can be problematic. They often draw too much current, with readings as high as 1.5V in your photos. Try adjusting the manual voltage to about 1.35 and see how it affects things. This model may also have mounting issues that lead to overheating or incorrect CPU connections, which can prevent proper operation. Your 13900K won’t be available soon, so I’m not experienced with these CPUs yet.

I considered it but I'm not sure, if it was the problem it would be really shocking. I've already sent a return request for both the board and the CPU.

In the bios locate the CPU Lite setting and adjust it to mode 5, then restart.

Thank you, I'll take it. Intel did send me another unit, so I'll look into the temperatures with it as well.

I have a 13600k Insta 100C with 240Aio in stock. It automatically reduced voltage to 1.37V without reason, kept auto mode on and set light mode to 5. Under load it drops to 1.15V and reaches a max temp of 72°C after a 10-minute R23 cycle. Despite this, my score stays at 24.3k and performance remains unaffected.

Light mode resembles the Load Line Calibration process.
