I have adjusted my i5 750 to overclock at 3.2GHZ with 161 BLCK, keeping voltages and DRAM in auto mode. I disabled speedstep. When I launch Prime 95, after roughly 10-15 minutes (around 78-81°C), the CPU briefly drops to 1.4GHZ for a few seconds before returning to normal speed.

Mobo: P7H55M
PSU: Sirtec 520
Why does this happen?

@3.2 isn't the auto turbo frequency for this model? Are you modifying just the bclk?

Yes, it is. I lowered the frequency from 3.4 GHZ thinking it was too high. It confirmed the throttling issue. I switched to a new cooler and now have the CPU at 3.4 GHZ with Offset Auto enabled, everything set to auto. What concerns me now is the voltage remaining at 1.312 during full load—doesn't that seem excessive?
