I changed my CPU to a 4690K yet when I attempt to start it, the fans increase speed but the drive doesn’t respond. The BIOS isn’t showing any updates. What might be causing this issue?

I used to have a CPU with a 4690, but it requires a more recent BIOS compared to other models on that platform.

According to common reports, the 4690K requires a BIOS upgrade after a Haswell refresh. Make sure your processor is functional, then install the latest BIOS version and reinstall the chip.

I checked the ASUS site and the list mentioned compatibility with the BIOS update. I changed the BIOS settings, but the screen still doesn’t appear.

I used to have a different processor. If you reinstall it, it might work again depending on the situation.

The previous model functions properly, Celeron G1830. The 4690K is listed ahead of the i7.

It seems the compatibility issue isn't clear from your message. The reference to the updated list versus the old version might be confusing. Could you clarify what you mean?
