Intel Extreme suddenly refuses to overclock
I own a Dell XPS 9575 with an i7-8705g processor. Until recently, I could easily adjust its speed and voltage through Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. But after reinstalling Windows, the system now displays "my platform doesn't support overclocking." I recall using the same software to tweak settings just a short time ago, so I think this might be the reason. Anyone have any ideas?
After reinstalling Windows, I realized the issue was caused by a BIOS patch from Plundervolt.

My new Dell Precision also has its voltage locked. I reached out to ProSupport to inquire about downgrading the BIOS, but they confirmed it wouldn’t void my warranty. Still, I’m unsure about proceeding.
I turned off SGX in the BIOS and reset everything to defaults, which means my i9-9980hk is now running at all cores up to 4.9GHz instead of 2.4GHz. However, because the voltage remains locked, it’s overheating. I haven’t discovered a solution to bypass this issue yet.
I really hope Dell releases an update soon.
