Intel Extreme Help
When using Intel Extreme Boost for overclocking, it functions well until you start playing a game. At that point, your CPU frequency drops back to 2.4 when you enable multiplayer at level 3.0.

That's what I noticed in your earlier reply... I'm feeling a bit foolish now.
Anyway, I don't suggest overclocking on laptops. It's a way to damage the charger.
But if you're trying to fix it, you can check your manual for instructions on opening the laptop, removing dust from the heatsink, and applying fresh thermal paste.
What is your CPU model, motherboard details, and power supply information?
What are your CPU temperatures during idle and under gaming/stress conditions?

Is the CPU overheating and triggering thermal throttling? Are you using the built-in cooler or an aftermarket one? Could you share the case model to check available cooling space?
