Is 4K HDR compatible with your PC? Does Intel own the rights, and do I still require special hardware? Can you run a 4K HDR player on older gear until you upgrade your Intel processor?

You should prioritize the newest HDMI version that includes HDCP 2.2, especially if your GPU can handle it. For onboard GPUs, a very recent CPU with this feature is essential.
