Intel core i7-8700K OC
Intel core i7-8700K OC
I am just starting out with this overclocking process.
My i7-8700k reached 5ghz at 1.3V—does that meet the requirements?
While I'm using aida64 fan at 750rpm and the temperature stays at 64°C, is that sufficient? Should I make any adjustments?
And does running Aida64 indicate the overclock is stable?
You understand that the AIDA64 Stress CPU handles only about 70% of its workload.

Maximum recommended Core voltages is 1.4, so your Vcore is well within norms.
Concerning AIDA64, there are 15 possible test combinations involving the CPU, so please be more specific ...
which
test(s) did you run?
What was your ambient (room) temperature at the time of testing?

I tested AIDA for 50 minutes at 1.3V and it worked easily, but during a PUGB game it crashed, so I increased to 1.310 and again it failed at 1.320V. Now I'm running at 1.320V.
About AIDA64 it's just the standard stress CPU in the settings, and I'm also running Furmark for the GPU together. After increasing to 1.320V, the CPU temperature is 67°C and the GPU is at 59°C.
My Kraken X62 has an ambient temperature of 23°C, but the AC is placed directly above the PC case. The CPU fan spins at 1834 RPM and the GPU fan at 2445 RPM while I run both Furmark and AIDA64. How long should I keep them running? I've heard it could be around 24 hours or more, which feels a bit excessive. I'm considering running for about an hour before deciding whether everything is okay.
