Intel® Core™ i3-3110M operating at 2.4 GHz while consuming 15 watts
Hello, your i3-3110M is working well at 2.4 GHz, but it's currently drawing only 15 watts compared to its 35 watt TDP. Everything seems normal—clock speeds and power usage are in order, and there’s no thermal or power throttling. Since it’s an older machine, you might want to explore ways to push it closer to its maximum capacity, such as checking BIOS settings, updating drivers, or ensuring proper cooling. There could be specific steps or configurations that unlock higher performance without overheating.
Verify if Intel XTU provides options for modifications. If not, there are no changes possible.
Just a note for OP—maybe you'll need to force the installation. Have a reference guide handy: https://kallelilja.com/2018/12/workaroun...-platform/
The 35W TDP is just the highest allowed limit. It doesn’t mean your CPU must always draw 35W. As long as it operates at its full capacity, the less power it uses, the better. The maximum speed listed is 2.40 GHz, which was typical for Intel CPUs in the past but isn’t common today.
The issue isn't solely about the CPU's power output. Many laptops have manufacturers reduce the maximum power consumption (TDP) due to design decisions in power management and cooling systems.
