After further verification, I realized my mistake. The RAM in my PC is a teamgroup type and operates in dual channel, confirmed by the CPU. It seems the issue might be related to the BIOS not having an XMP profile for it. I suppose that's what was causing the problem. Anyway, it's fine. I'll likely upgrade it with an i7 and give the PC a good run.
I'm still considering upgrades for my wife's system. A pink case would be a nice touch.
How many ram sticks are you using? 2x16gb or 4x8GB. If you're only using 2 sticks, place them in slots A2, B2 which are the second and fourth slots away from your CPU, this should enable dual channel operation. If the sticks are adjacent to each other, they will function in single channel mode.
They should have noted that. 2x16, both in the second slots, matching my manual's description of a2 and b2. However, they were installed according to the manual's guidance and are functioning in dual channel as the CPU specifies. Despite this, these drives don’t appear to have an XMP profile. I reverted the BIOS settings last night, and as expected, the XMP options remain grayed out.
Intel has identified and resolved the underlying issue affecting 13th and 14th generation systems. Their latest official update, dated 9/25/2024, is available here: https://community.intel.com/t5/Blog...sk...633446#M40. The warranty period for these products has been extended by two years. Users should simply confirm their motherboard contains the updated BIOS.
