integrate ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z SATA drivers during Windows XP installation - NLite problems arise
Hello everyone, I'm currently preparing an older system with an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard. All components run drivers that work with Windows XP. I'm facing a problem when trying to add the SATA drivers from the motherboard's disk into the Windows XP installer using NLite. The process crashes, and the resulting file grows to an enormous 11 GB—way bigger than a DVD! This has become a significant obstacle. I've experimented with different methods: using a USB-powered Blu-ray drive during XP installation didn't help, nor did leaving the drivers on a USB stick throughout the setup. I also tried installing Windows XP on another machine with a different motherboard/CPU combination, which worked fine there. However, I'm worried about compatibility if I move this system to another computer later. I really appreciate any advice or solutions you can offer to get those SATA drivers working properly for the ASUS board. Thank you all for your support! P.S. I know Windows XP is risky nowadays, and this machine is just for retro gaming.
