You're right, it does slow down a bit, but it's worth it because you're addressing issues from trusted sources like Know-It-Alls and Microsoft. Tell them they're mistaken and their computer slowing down isn't due to updates. Instead, it's likely a result of their system being misconfigured. Or simply let them handle it however they wish, and avoid complaining when things go wrong or take time to resolve.
They consistently slow down my boot drive and consume storage. Updates rarely help me much; I’m one of the few who advises against them, because with Windows they often don’t make a difference.
