i used lg c1 as a pc monitor and everything worked fine. then i decided to reinstall windows, but soon after installing a video driver, i realized i had to start over again. it’s really frustrating because i already had this issue with my tv acting like a monitor. even when i connected an old, bad monitor, the same problems appeared. it seems like something might be wrong with tvs or my setup.
I'm familiar with many displays offering image centering settings in their menus... give it a try!
I've already tested that. It doesn't really work on the desktop PC mode, though I did check some AMD settings to align things. Still, nothing centers properly, even with third-party tools. The sides remain misaligned.
I discovered something straightforward to test. It seems AI software might be affecting how it displays content, especially when using monitors versus screens. This issue appears more often with TVs used as monitors and could relate to video card adjustments for HDMI scaling. Hope this is just a scaling problem, but why does it only occur with my new TV after 40 years of computer use?
I don't see the help feature you're looking for. I was able to resolve it on Windows RESOURCE with a resolution of 3200 x 1800 and a scaling factor of 200%. The center alignment is enabled by default, so anything else might affect the result. You might need to install after the system has adjusted to the old monitor and restore your TV afterward. I don’t want to have to spend hours fixing things just to get a decent display. I’ve got about 80% of my screen covered with black borders.
Over the past fifteen years in IT, I've seen every single TV. Connecting a computer to an HDMI port often meant adjusting Overscan or Underscan settings in the graphics driver or TV configuration. Some devices change these settings per HDMI input, switching Picture Mode from Wide to Stretch or Full, and sometimes to Native or Pixel based on the model. I discovered I only needed to switch the LG device input from HDMI 4 to PC mode using the TV settings. I accessed the LG Device Input Editor in the dashboard, clicked the HDMI icon and selected PC. Everything worked fine now. Why didn’t LG mention this during the first steps? I guess I didn’t remember doing it, but I did when I first got the TV. Now it functions perfectly like any monitor—nothing will throw off if it’s not centered anymore. Lol
