Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a situation. My girlfriend got a pre-built PC with all the accessories packed in the motherboard box. She needed more storage since her current one isn't enough. I thought about getting her an 8TB HDD to use temporarily, but I noticed there were no screws in the box. I don’t want to just force it in and give up, but I’m not sure how to get more screws without ordering a whole pack online. Anyone got tips on how to grab a few screws instead of buying a big quantity? (Based in the UK if you're interested.)

The screws were meant to be found in the original case accessories box. You can purchase four 6-32 screws at a hardware store. Their size typically ranges from 1/8 to 1/4 inch, which corresponds to 3 to 6 mm.

If a hard drive is already mounted, you can easily take two screws from its opposite sides. (Just grab two from the corners—it's a bit awkward but should work. 5.25" screws are smaller and won't fit.) The case and motherboard screws match the size and threading of the 3.5" drive screws as well.

hard drives rely on imperial screws, which can be hard to locate in the EU (or near it). Once you find a reliable supplier, a pack of 50 should cost only a small amount, making it more practical than searching for just a few.
