I own an Aspire E 15 Start or ES1-512-C685 and am checking if dual booting is possible. I want to run Windows 8.1 alongside installing a newer Mac OS version, but I don’t have a CD/DVD drive left.

For that laptop, no instructions are available, and I suspect it wouldn<|pad|> to perform as expected. Getting the drivers functional is already challenging. You'll likely need to spend a lot of time trying to get the operating system to function properly before you can use it.

Operating system basics needed. Works on Wi-Fi, graphics, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB ports. Shut down and power on functions are essential.

Starting up often presents challenges, especially with Wi-Fi performance. It usually fails unless the chipset isn't Intel or graphics drivers are scarce. Most solutions rely on Intel's Internet stack, which can be outdated, and USB ports sometimes cause driver conflicts. Standard Mac OS isn't designed for broad hardware compatibility—Linux might be a better alternative.
