Hello! No one mentioned in the group has set up an aftermarket router with BT Fibre Broadband before. For a new router in a small flat, you might want to check out popular models like the TP-Link Archer or Netgear Nighthawk. Let me know if you need more tips!

I'm connected to BT Infinity 2 using the stock BT openreach modem with a Netgear Nighthawk AC2300 R7000P. The internet connection is very stable, and WiFi works well for its price. The main problem is that BT TV sometimes shows interruptions because of IGMP proxying on BT networks, which feels unusual. I'm based in Bristol, and this is my experience with the internet speed over Ethernet using this setup.

Sure, I just wanted to mention this since we’ve got a car tramp parking in our garage and he gets annoyed whenever I switch off my router (and then the BT WiFi X). I’ve heard there’s a way to turn it off, but it seems tricky to figure out. So I’ll pick another router when I’m out tomorrow.

Pick up an HG612 used model from eBay, switch it to bridge mode, configure your router for PPPoE authentication, and you're good to go.
