I currently have two Acer ultrawide monitors powered by the built-in graphics of my Ryzen 5 5600G. This configuration works well for me, but I often run out of screen space. As a software developer, I need to access various resources and frequently switch between tabs. I usually have to use Alt-Tab a lot. I'm considering adding a third monitor to my setup. I already own a portable USB-C display that fits nicely beside the other monitors without interfering. It's something I already have. My system was built about a year or two ago, and I'm using an MSI B550M PRO-VDH motherboard which doesn't include any USB-C ports on the board itself. I've been trying to figure out if it's possible to get video output from the integrated graphics through an add-on board, but I wasn't sure if my understanding was correct. It seems like the manufacturer likely didn't support a Thunderbolt card as an option, and the B550 chipset probably doesn't have that feature. Does this mean I'm stuck with a new graphics card? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The USB-C screen requires a dock or powered adapter. Consider using DisplayLink to stream video over USB, but ensure your hardware supports it. Buying a decent graphics card is recommended for better performance.

A wired xDisplay setup with an iPad provided a solid free alternative, though I didn’t realize how bothersome the lag was. While searching for alternatives, I stumbled upon a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter on Amazon. Initially doubtful, I watched several YouTube tutorials confirming its functionality, so I decided to try it out.
