I posted about getting a processor for my PC a few months back, only to discover it wasn’t compatible. I sent it back and did some research before purchasing an AMD Phenom II X6 1055t with the correct TDP compatibility. My setup uses a foxconn 2aa9 motherboard. By the way, this isn’t my primary machine. When I inserted it and tried to boot, the fans started up but the screen didn’t appear and the power button didn’t activate. Could you help me out? I assumed it would work.

The CPU is confirmed to be supported. Integrated graphics are in use. No boot errors are being reported. It’s time to consider adding a discreet graphics card, such as the GForce GT710, for better performance.

Attempt to reset the CMOS. Also, verify the CMOS battery voltage.

On a more aged board like this, the CMOS battery might already be past its prime, pretty good.

I recall his initial thread somewhat. It seems this is likely an OEM pull from an HP machine. There’s no mention of a BIOS update; I’d need to download the original HP software with the old CPU to check if a BIOS update is possible via Windows, though it might not be feasible without the right OS and software.

I searched online about the motherboard and found many updates from 2019, which could be useful starting points.

You're unsure about updating the BIOS, but you've already changed the CMOS battery. That's a good first step.

It contains a GTX 650. I’m not sure what to do with the BIOS or the CMOS battery since I swapped it out about two months ago.
