Installing a new mobile device and asking about relocating windows
I'm sorry if my explanation isn't clear. I'm feeling unwell and this situation with my PC is really stressful. I built this machine in July 2019, but the tech said three of my RAM slots are dead and ordered a new one. It's a B450 model, same type as the one I currently have, except from a different manufacturer and with Wi-Fi. The fourth slot is working, and they said it should be fine for the three days until it stabilizes. I tried installing RAM in any of the first three slots, but it won't work. They mentioned it should be okay to transfer Windows if I registered my current setup, which I did. Now my PC appears in my account but doesn't show any keys or settings. Because of the apartment flooding, I lost the original paperwork and had to save everything on a thumb drive. I installed it onto this PC anyway, so I think I downloaded everything onto the thumb drive and installed it that way. I believe I uploaded the code to the website to start the download. I'm hoping it will be as easy as swapping the SSD into the new RAM and booting up, except maybe I'll need more money for repairs. Thanks everyone.
You can link your SSD to the new motherboard, though a full reinstall is advised if you have BSOD or instability issues. Windows might disable itself because the hardware change makes it appear as a brand-new system. Reach out to Microsoft support and inform them about the motherboard failure; they might provide a replacement key. Windows will function properly without activation.
