You're experiencing quite the heat buildup with your laptop, especially when playing demanding games like GTA V. The temperatures you mentioned are pretty high, which can definitely lead to throttling and lower performance. You've already tried some fixes—thermal paste replacement and cleaning the fan—but mounting a desktop CPU cooler seems like a big step. It might work, but it depends on how well it fits your specific setup and whether the case allows for such an installation. Consider checking compatibility with your motherboard and cooling system before making the change.

I’m planning to secure the device by using a specialized mounting method that ensures stability and safety.

Varies by board but generally feasible. Keep in mind that multiple laptops share the same heatpipe(s) and fan(s), so other parts might need attention too. Consider adding a single 120 mm fan on top for better airflow. I recently changed thermal paste on an i7-8550 inside a Dell with just one fan, but the outcome wasn’t great—the fan and heatsink were too small. Start simple and expand gradually. Share some photos and log temps/clock speeds if possible. Good luck!

They offer “laptop cooling pads” which mostly serve their purpose. I haven’t noticed a noticeable temperature drop when using them. This is likely the design of modern laptops.
