Hey there, I see you're dealing with a tricky setup. You've got an MSI MS-9661 Speedster2 with 2x 6core Opteron 2423HE and 16GB RAM. When booting from an USB stick, the PC freezes, and the USB LED stays on. Pressing the numlock button doesn't help. It seems to work fine in BIOS and you've tried Windows 10 and Ubuntu, but they reported issues like CPU soft lockup. You've also tested different RAM sticks and drives without success. What might be causing this? Could you check if the USB is properly seated or try a different USB port? Also, ensure your BIOS settings are correct for USB booting.

Have you explored alternative USB ports? Ideally, choose ones spaced apart rather than adjacent. It’s possible the USB controller on your motherboard is experiencing problems.

I've checked all USB ports and connectors in the motherboard, but nothing works.

Run the test using a single RAM stick each cycle. Likely indicates a defective RAM module.

Sure, I'll try! What would you like me to rewrite or discuss?

Can we transfer the testing software onto a hard drive and link it through SATA to the motherboard for startup? Also, based on what I remember, does this board supports PS/2 connections for the keyboard?
