System details: Motherboard Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Bios version F67, CPU AMD Ryzen 7 2700, RAM 64GB 3200MT/s (4x16GB), GPU AMD Radeon RX 9070XT, SSD SATA. Hi all, in my setup I have 64GB RAM installed but the BIOS only shows 32GB available for both Windows and Linux. Could you explain why this happens? I tested all RAM modules and slots, so it seems like a configuration problem. Any guidance on accessing the full 64GB would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Are those sticks from a single collection or two separate ones? We were expecting 32GB before. Your system worked fine with 64GB previously. Based on your answers to earlier questions, the explanation might differ. Have you attempted to reset the CMOS memory? This could resolve some odd problems you're facing. The sticks were all from the same batch. I was certain when I first assembled the system that it had 64GB of RAM, but now I’m doubting that ever happened because it might be a CPU limitation. I’ve reset the CMOS several times and updated to the newest BIOS. It appears my CPU only recognizes up to 2133MT/s, while the RAM is rated for 3200MT/s and is automatically throttled.
Replace the RAM frequently, usually indicating a wire causing poor connection.
The RAM speed is 2133 MT/s and it can be overclocked to 3200 MT/s. There shouldn’t be a compatibility problem between the sticks. Your motherboard and CPU both support up to 128 GB of RAM, which isn’t a constraint. This seems like a suggestion. Have you tried booting from a Linux USB drive just to check available RAM? I think your Windows might be damaged and needs a fresh install. Good luck!
