Hello everyone, I just upgraded my RAM from 8GB to 16GB (doubling the capacity). The system recognizes it as 16GB, but the Task Manager shows only 11.1GB available. Is this typical? Are there ways to expand that amount? P.S.: XMP is turned on in BIOS. Thanks!
Everything seems to be in order. Your setup looks good—Intel Core i5-6400 with Asus ROG Maximus Ranger VIII motherboard, slots 1 and 3 are correctly used.
Reserve only a small amount of memory space, avoid using 1.8GB. Place the components in slots 2 and 4.
I revisited the BIOS settings again according to Kilrah's advice. After restarting to Windows, the hardware reservation updated to 61.1MB and the available space reached 15.9GB. I also enabled Intel Virtualization Technology since I prefer using Vmware for other operating systems. It’s unclear if this adjustment was intentional or if another reboot was needed. On the last boot, the motherboard showed the code 40.
