To begin, add the browser extension named privacy badger. It features a black/white icon in your toolbar or within its menu options. This tool prevents unnecessary trackers and enhances page load times. You have the ability to block specific domains across any website, experimenting until performance improves. Another option involves using Wireshark. The limitation here is it displays only local network traffic, not the broader internet. Navigate to the view menu and check network addresses to identify website names. Wireshark doesn’t block anything directly; it merely reveals network activity for analysis. If you wish to enforce blocks, setting up a NextDNS account is recommended. Point your router’s DNS settings to the IPs managed by that service. I haven’t personally used their app, but manually blocking domains one by one can be inefficient. For Android users, consider installing F-droid and RethinkDNS to locally restrict apps, IPs, and domains before they connect to cellular or Wi-Fi signals.
