You have an Acer E1 laptop with Windows 8 installed, and Ubuntu was accidentally installed instead. You want to revert back to Windows without purchasing a new license.

I faced the same issue when attempting to dual boot Ubuntu on my machine—it was really problematic. I ended up having to perform a fresh installation of Windows, so I recommend you do the same.

Yes, the window sticker remains attached to the bottom of the device.

It seems I misread the message—it might have been a duplicate, but I opened it twice by accident.

I possess two items: one displaying a reflective Windows 8 logo and another providing the laptop's model number, S/N, and SNID.

No, none of them provide your Windows product key.

Ensure you have a Windows installation CD or a pre-built version with the product code sticker. This could fail if you removed the Windows copy without keeping the code.

Did you generate a collection of Recovery Discs with Acer Software? It likely reminded you right away when you brought the machine home and started the initial configuration. Based on my quick Google search, Acer E1 series laptops don’t come with a COA on the case—use the built-in Product Key in the BIOS, which seems restricted to the Acer OS image. Also, don’t be too hard on yourself; it’s a good idea to back up your data whenever you switch between operating systems or upgrade the OS, preferably with a complete HDD image backup.
