Hey! I assembled the PC one part at a time following the Linus instructions, confidently avoiding mistakes during construction. The only oversight was skipping the full pre-assembly build in the case, which I thought might be a mistake (I’m still learning and worried about messing things up). When I power it on, the BIOS screen doesn’t appear. The CPU and DRAM status lights on the motherboard start flashing one after another, alternating between them. Here’s what I used:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-13600KF 3.5 GHz, 14-core cooler, Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B660 GAMING X AX DDR4 ATX LGA1700
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2x16 GB), DDR4-3600 CL18
- SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME
- GPU: Zotac Trinity OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB
- Power Supply: Corsair RM850e 850W, 80+ Gold certified, fully modular ATX
- I also re-seated the RAM slots just to be safe, though it seems to fit correctly.
Some folks suggested updating the BIOS, but I double-checked everything. At first, I was worried my monitor or display might be faulty. It’s an old Dell Ultrasharp and needs a mini DP to DP cable or DVI to DVI adapter with a DP converter. It seems to work fine with the cables I’m using.
