Installation takes a very long time during startup.
Background: 2006(?) HP Pavilion dv7 laptop AMD 3500U APU with 6 GB RAM and 500GB SSD. Installed Fresh Windows on an old laptop, replacing the HDD with a SSD. Compared to running Windows 10 versus the previous version 7. The system boots quickly once started, but loading Windows takes a long time—especially during startup and when the screen goes dark. Posting is smooth, but the delay when Windows loads or when the PC wakes up is problematic. Applications run well, and calls via Zoom/Teams work fine. There’s no Fast Boot option in the BIOS, but posting itself isn’t the main concern. I’m unsure what’s slowing Windows down—could it be the large size of Windows on a weak CPU, or maybe a configuration tweak I can try? Looking for suggestions.
