Hello everyone, I'm facing issues with my Dell Precision 7720 due to conflicting drivers that cause frequent crashes. For instance, the Nvidia driver from Dell we6 is outdated compared to the version on the official site, and the same goes for the Intel graphics driver. It seems the drivers available on the Dell website are generally not up-to-date. Should I install them after the OS installation, or should I use Windows Update to update the drivers? When I encounter BSODs such as video drive failure or page faults in non-paged areas, it's difficult to pinpoint the exact driver causing the conflict. Even though I installed the Nvidia and Intel drivers from their respective sites, the PC still works well with just those two. However, I know the system needs more drivers. When a Windows update forces a driver update, multiple BSODs occur. I've just set up a fresh Windows 10 and plan to install drivers now—could you please advise on the best approach? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Get chipset and networking drivers from the laptop support website while you can download the newest ones from your GPU manufacturer's site. When available, use Nvidia drivers instead of letting Windows install them automatically, as this often causes problems.

For your Dell Precision 7720, locate all drivers using the serial number or service tag on the bottom of your laptop in Dell's support portal.

Install the operating system in offline mode (especially for Windows 10 or 11), then manually add drivers via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator.

Thank you for the reply. Regarding the Intel HD driver, it's best to download it from the official Intel website or a trusted PC site. After installation, if a Windows update forces a restart, it may conflict with drivers you installed manually from the PC site, potentially causing issues.
