Installation method for laptops and desktops via external drive
I already did a basic search, sorry if I overlooked it. You're aiming to set up an external boot drive to switch between your laptop and desktop for college use. I'm curious—will Windows support this kind of setup, and could changing systems often trigger any warnings? Anyone have insights on this?
It functions properly now. I've managed to get it to operate... But this was on Windows 7, I think, and I had to turn off USB drivers in Windows to make it work. The issue I remember from back then was that during startup, Windows would control the USB ports. Disabling the Windows USB drivers resolved the problem. You should also note that switching between devices will take significantly longer now, as Windows needs to reload chipset drivers and other components each time.
