Installation issues with PoP devices? Let me help troubleshoot.
Hi there. I'm just getting started with Linux and want to move from Windows to Pop!OS. My goal is to have one drive running Windows 10 and another with Pop!OS, all on the same machine. I made an ISO for Pop 20.04 based on an NVIDIA chip, and so far everything works fine—especially when I create the ISO on a USB stick. After several reboots from that USB, the Pop installation starts but I keep seeing this error: "can not mount /dev/loop0/ (...)" and the machine just hangs. My search on the internet didn<|pad|>, but I’m not sure what’s causing this issue. If anyone has faced this before or knows what might be wrong, please let me know. Thanks!
Utilized balenaEtcher > flash from file (pop-os_20.04_amd64_nvidia_34, obtained straight from system76's website)
Consider Ventoy's options: Visit the Ventoy download page at https://www.ventoy.net/en/download.html and the Pop_OS download at https://pop.system76.com/. Read the official setup guide found at https://www.ventoy.net/en/doc_start.html. After connecting your USB, you'll have a live Pop!_OS ready to use. You can place several live images on the USB simultaneously with Ventoy. If Pop!_OS remains unresponsive, try alternative distributions such as Manjaro (rolling release) at https://manjaro.org/download/ or Solus (curated rolling release) at https://getsol.us/download/.
