New PC configuration Asus Z590-E (BIOS 1701 x64) Intel i5 11600k attempting win11 installation via media creator on a flash drive. Utilizing laptop’s window key for this build (probably functional). Performing clean install with no available drivers. Tested IRST drivers on both Intel and non-Intel platforms onto the flash drive. Non-Intel version included a driver, but failed to load; Intel version had none. Attempted to disable VMD in BIOS settings. BIOS -> Advanced -> SA configuration -> VMD menu not present. Possible alternatives? Checked other driver sources but couldn’t locate NVMe 4.0 M.2 SSD. Updated February 10, 2023 by Aridaman Gill

When you set up Windows, it may not recognize the drives you want to install on because it doesn't have access to them.

Sure, you're using a M.2 PCIe 4.0 slot.

Visit the provided link for the ROG Strix Z590 gaming Wi-Fi motherboard. Review the chipset options and proceed with downloads for both Windows 11 and Windows 10. Retrieve the Intel chipset driver, Intel Serial IO, and Intel RST driver files. Place them in a folder on your installation USB. When prompted, select "Load driver."

Z590-E supports M.2 slots alongside PCIE slots or graphics cards. In the BIOS navigate to advanced settings, then onboard devices configuration, and select CPU PCIe config mode. By default it shows PCIE_1 + PCIE_2, but you should adjust to PCIE_1 + PCIE_2 + M.2_2 if applicable. This change is necessary only when your M.2 is installed in the first and second slots, which are assigned to the CPU together with the graphics card, while slots 3 and 4 remain for the motherboard chipset. Once this is done, the drive will appear during Win11 installation.
