I will share the details of what happened. I upgraded to new components: 2x16GB RAM, AMD RYZEN 7800X3D, B650 Tomahawk WIFI. My system was built with an Intel i7-7800K motherboard and works fine initially. I accessed BIOS, but Windows failed to launch. A USB drive was used for a Windows install, which completed successfully. Later, I encountered "no signal" issue without a backup, waited 30 seconds, then powered off the PC. The worst outcome was a Windows corruption. Even after performing a safety erase on the M.2 slot in BIOS each time I tried to reinstall Windows, I kept seeing blue screens. I also ran sfc /scannow but it only fixed 24% and caused another blue screen. My question is: is my PC damaged or should I try something else?
Check if the EXPO feature is active in the BIOS settings. If not, ensure it’s turned on before proceeding. Consider starting with the standard RAM speed unless you’re certain about the need for EXPO.
What kind of monitor are we talking about? It might be a problem where the display doesn’t accept the standard driverless resolution—consider switching to something else or using a TV if possible.
I changed to a 1080p monitor and received a clean USB drive for Windows installation. I removed my CMOS and kept only the working RAM stick, but still had no signal during setup. Now I’m stuck again without any way to save or recover the system before a restart. I’m thinking about going to a shop, but I’m sure most people will try to scam me.
At this stage, only logical deduction remains. For GPU users, proceed without it. With extra storage devices available, attempt the installation even if they’re not needed.
