Installation guide for ASRock B450M Pro4 RAM slots.
Despite my efforts, I'm having trouble getting my RAM to fit into the slots on this motherboard. I looked up online and found that the B450M Pro4 should work with your G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200. The clamp is open, and I'm applying strong pressure with both hands, but it still doesn't insert properly. The bottom notch aligns correctly as well.
When using both hands to push in, there might be an obstruction inside the RAM slot or the notch isn't aligned properly. Your motherboard supports DDR4, so it should fit correctly if positioned right. It helps to insert it first into the bottom and then the top, since this type of slot typically has just one adjustable tab.
I confirmed there was nothing blocking the way and the notch aligned correctly. I attempted once more, and this time the ram descended fully and seems properly secured. The clamp didn’t click into position, so I had to reposition it manually. Is this acceptable or should I try again for it to set itself?
Thanks for the feedback. I understand the task was completed on a placemat at your kitchen table, not your bed.
