I operate the installer directly from Rockstar and it claims to install, but once the game starts it just waits without doing anything. The download time seems too fast—no indication of large file transfers. I've also tried running the Social Club installer alone, with no success. Disabling PIA didn't help either. Assistance needed?
Delete all your rockstar files and the installer, then restart from scratch. The game is about 55GB, so it shouldn’t be overly slow.
What specifications are you using? It’s a good idea to verify you have the necessary runtimes and DirectX installed. Updating your graphics drivers would also be wise if you haven’t already. I also have GTAV available via Rockstar Social online, and I’ve successfully installed and played it without any problems.
A new Windows update is loading smoothly these days. Sometimes I miss the simplicity of macOS.
