Good day, I'm posting this question verbatim here since I have not received any feedback on the Ask Microsoft site https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...a41a97d56d For the past couple of days I have not been able to install Windows in a custom built PC I just assembled. The PC hardware specs are the following: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite B550 AX V2 Rev 1.5 2 HDDs, 1 SSD Sandisk (Currently running Linux Mint), 1 NVME WD_Black SN770 (The drive I want to install Windows on) Thermaltake Litepower 450W XPG Case I created a Windows Boot USB using the official media creator tool provided by Microsoft, I tried both Windows 10 and 11. On both, right at the beginning of the installation I'm prompted with a window telling me there are missing drivers and the installation cannot continue without installing the drivers. The window has the tittle "media driver your computer needs is missing". I have downloaded all the drivers from the Gigabyte website and extracted them, I have selected all the drivers that appear in the windows once I choose a folder and still I'm not able to continue with the installation. I have tried the following drivers: - PCIE Audio - LAN - WiFi - Bluetooth - AMD RAID Bottom device - NVIDIA Audio My BIOS identifies all the hardware just fine and all settings are the default ones, AHCI enabled in the NVME drive. I can use this PC with Linux Mint without issue, including all the storage drives I have installed. In the windows installer diskpart identifies all the drives just fine. This is a driver issue but I can't seem to find the missing driver to install when prompted by the Windows installer. Help please?
The window shows up when you select the drive, either before or after the installation screen. If it appears before and no installation drive is visible, you might need to install the SATA/RAID driver directly in Windows setup. You should pull the .exe from the setup folder and then unpack it into a custom directory on your setup drive. Don’t try to install missing drivers from the .exe itself. Follow the steps on the Gigabyte support page for extracting the right folders: SATA_RAID, NVMe_DID, and NVMe_CC, into a folder named "GBdrivers" on your installation media. This should help you load the drivers correctly during setup.
I experienced a comparable problem. Consider reinstalling the media creation tool and employing another USB drive.
Thank you for the video. My explanation wasn’t very clear. I managed to get all the drivers, including the preinstalled one, and I extracted the exe files to reveal the driver .inf files. I’ve tested with the NVMe_CC AMD RAID Bottom device, but it didn’t work. I’ll share a screenshot of the drivers I extracted and tried in the install window. Also, I’m not planning to set up RAID on this computer, so I don’t see the need for those RAID drivers.
