You swapped your 2x4GB RAM for 2x8GB at higher speeds, but the monitor still shows no signal. Everything seems properly connected, yet the issue persists. Your other old RAM is also failing, which makes it hard to figure out what’s wrong. You might want to double-check the RAM slots and ensure the new sticks are seated correctly.
Have you considered swapping out the RAM modules? It could be misaligned, which might prevent the screen from functioning correctly.
I attempted to resolve issues using both the latest and previous RAM configurations. This involved switching slots from 2 & 4 to 1 & 3, as well as testing single and dual channel setups.
CPU is Ryzen 5 3600, GPU is GTX 1660, motherboard is Asus B450, RAM was 2x4 at 2400Hz, Cosair Vengeance now 2x8 at 3200Hz, tested with a single stick.
Your new RAM usage might exceed what your CPU can handle, but this shouldn’t cause issues since the RAM will automatically lower its speed to compatible levels. When I boosted my friend’s system with a similar CPU, I pushed their RAM up to 3000MHz, but their motherboard only supported 2933MHz, so no signals were sent. Eventually, I took it to service because there was insufficient hardware.
What is happening? It will initialize with any SPD configuration upon startup. Wipe CMOS.
