Hi, the latest 2018-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 on your X240 isn't installing properly. You're using Windows 10 Build 16299.248, and the update keeps failing. Try restarting your PC or checking your internet connection. If the issue persists, consider using a different update source or contacting Microsoft support for further help.

Have you checked the Update Catalog for it and installed it yourself?

You might be able to handle that. Or halt the Windows Update service, remove the Software Distribution folder, restart it, and then attempt the Windows Update again.

It helped me several times when WU wouldn't install or would stop during the setup.

Consider using a system reaper or performing a Windows reinstall while preserving your files.

The file loads properly. The problem arises during restart—it fails to display the "Getting Windows Ready" prompt and instead performs a standard reboot.
