I accidentally formatted my hard drive before reinstalling Windows 11 to ensure it was clean. I saved the installation to a bootable USB and proceeded. The problem is that Windows can't locate the device drivers, displaying an empty or blank screen. It seems the system doesn’t recognize the USB as a valid installation source and also can't find the hard drive. I tried searching for solutions and attempted three options: testing different USB ports, cleaning/formatting the drive from the command prompt, and installing USB drivers alongside Windows on the bootable USB. None of these resolved the issue, possibly due to driver incompatibility when using the USB with the motherboard. I'm installing Windows 11 on a Gigabyte B450M DS3H-CF board, running Ryzen 5 3600 with a 1 TB SSD. Any additional details you have would be helpful.

It seems the installation media for Windows 11 was obtained before any drivers were installed. You mentioned using it on brand new hardware without drivers. Could you clarify how you acquired the media?

I downloaded the ISO from the Microsoft site and chose to create a bootable USB myself.

I used two distinct USB drives, and both started up successfully. However, the issue persists with the "missing device drivers."

I'm using a specific technique to create the bootable USB. Have you explored Microsoft's media creation tool for this purpose?

Use one of the USB 2.0 ports close to your PS2 connection

You're currently using the Windows setup with a USB flash drive. If the drive isn't recognized or the installation fails, it may indicate an issue with the USB controller drivers. Check your system settings to confirm the correct SATA controller is selected. On other platforms, download the appropriate drivers from the manufacturer's site and install them before proceeding. Ensure your drive isn't formatted before installation, as this can prevent drivers from loading properly. If problems persist, verify that the controller isn't in RAID mode unless supported by Windows.

Because I couldn't set up Windows, I used one of my thumb drives containing a Linux Mint ISO that I had prepared earlier. I also built the Windows installation using "usb image writer." Of course, I can't use Microsoft's media creation tool within Mint.

It seems better to use a dedicated installation tool from another machine. I’m not sure how the media tool differs from an ISO setup, but there might be a gap. The ISO could be intended for upgrading a PC with pre-installed drivers.
