Linux DGAF works with MBR or GPT formats if you used them before. Parted and fdisk both handle these partition table types, and the disk should still appear. It’s more likely the 4th kernel lacks drivers for your drive or there was an error in the installer. Consider using a minimal installation media for another distribution, verify your drive listing with a current kernel, or reach out to Elementary tech support if needed.
