Today my computer stopped showing anything after many troubleshooting attempts online. I ended up replacing the CPU and motherboard. My new setup includes: MSI B550M Pro, WiFi, Ryzen 5 5600X, Corsair Vengeance 2400MHz, 8GB RAM doubled, Palit GTX 1070 8GB, Seasonic non-modular graphics card, 620W power supply, Seagate 1TB SATA 3 HDD, PNY 240GB SSD. After installing everything, the screen still doesn’t appear. I tried resetting BIOS and removing the CMOS battery, even after taking out the SSD and HDD, but nothing works. I’ve already spent a lot on these parts and am really disappointed. Help is needed!
It's possible both GPU and RAM are involved. Check system resources, close unnecessary programs, and test on another machine if needed.
Test the RAM modules individually. Connect the GPU cable to a different slot. If any CPU has built-in graphics, try that too. Verify your monitor functions by plugging it into another port. Alternatively, wait and listen for Windows startup sounds. If none are heard, test by plugging in and unplugging a USB.
Check the GPU on a different machine, verify RAM components separately. It might also be the monitor or cable—testing those first could help.
Is this item older than several months? There’s a condition known as burn-in where devices might function during factory testing but eventually fail because of an unknown manufacturing flaw. Once the hardware survives the initial burn-in phase, issues become very rare until the product ages enough for a component to reach end-of-life. This process can take a long time, especially with computers. Previously, the shortest-lasting part was a power supply unit, lasting around five years. Power supplies have improved significantly, but the lower-end models still lag behind.
