Hello, I just got my XPS 13 FHD 9360 today. I purchased a Samsung 960 EVO 250G drive and set up a boot USB using Windows tools. Updated the BIOS and installed Windows on my SSD. The installer restarts the laptop, but it can’t detect the bootable device. Even though the SSD appears in the BIOS, the DELL SupportAssist page shows details like product name, BIOS version, Service Tag, and ePSA. It says “no bootable devices found.” I tried changing the SSD settings to AHCI from RAID, but that didn’t help. Can you assist?

You've made a bootable USB with Windows installed, but the SSD isn't being recognized. Have you attempted a fresh installation? It might help to switch to NVMe instead of AHCI. Also, since you have a 960 EVO drive, it likely isn't RAID or AHCI—use the correct interface type.

Thank you for your response. I've already reinstalled Windows again, even tried making a bootable USB once more. Yes, I installed Windows and usually it would start to the initial setup screen, but now the laptop says it can't detect the SSD. I'm considering creating another boot drive using the old SSD (the default one) to see if that works better. Would that help at all?

I updated the original content. The SSD needs to use NVMe, not AHCI. My mind went blank at that time...

During SATA operations, you have three choices: 1. Disabled, 2. AHCI, 3. RAID On

I believe the available choices are AHCI and RAID. RAID isn't right for me. Does the BIOS list the USB drive first during startup?

Check if your system supports NVMe and adjust settings accordingly.

currently, I've disabled the USB, which means the boot sequence now shows "UEFI: Samsung SSD 960EVO 250GB, Partition 2." When Windows was installed and it restarted while the boost USB was connected, it kept looping back to the installer page, so I had to remove it.

I viewed a YouTube video he shared in AHCI format, then I did what he suggested.

It's meant to be selected as AHCI for compatibility reasons. It appears to be split into two partitions because of system requirements or configuration settings.
