You're asking if it's feasible to use a USB stick as a storage device for your Windows profile settings, especially when profiles are lost on a college computer. It sounds like you're looking into backing up or restoring profile data via USB.

Are you referring to a campus account? When you sign in on a campus computer, you're not connecting to a local account but to a domain account running on a server inside or outside the campus. Why would you need this setup? Simply use the thumb drive to store your files and access them as required. Many colleges also provide students with small network storage shares, eliminating the need for a separate drive altogether.

On a campus, the domain is managed on a server. Explanation: The login process on my Windows 10 machine usually takes around 10 minutes each time I access the "HI" screen. I was curious to check how long it generally takes to log in.

The best approach would be to adjust the boot priority in the BIOS from the usual network storage location to a USB drive. But any machine you connect to will need this modification, which may not be permitted on your campus.
