I tried WinToGo as suggested by @Levent on a 16GB USB 2.0 drive (32-bit Windows). It functioned properly, though I didn’t reach the desktop due to slow speeds. The initial loading took over an hour and a half, after which it entered a waiting screen that seemed to hang. Eventually Windows crashed and rebooted, warning about storage speed. Still, it worked! I’m planning to upgrade to an external USB 3.1 SSD now. Thanks everyone for your advice—I’ve been using this account for years. Update 2.0: I recalled Linus demonstrating the same process with an SD card instead. I feel embarrassed not remembering that earlier! Edited August 2, 2019 by TheodorArC
