Hi! I watched a video showing a huge FPS boost effect. I'm using L4D2 on Windows 7 with an AMD E-300 laptop, and it's running at 15-25 FPS. If I switch to Linux, could I get even better performance? Or is this just a scam?

Without any details about the picture, it's difficult to interpret. Regardless, the initial Left 4 Dead version runs poorly on an E1-1200, and even worse on an E-300, meaning you won't progress much with L4D2 across different operating systems.

L4D2 is a lightweight install, isn't it? If you're keen to try it, boot Ubuntu or Mint from a USB drive. Set up Steam and give it a shot. Just remember, the image doesn't provide much detail, so I'd be cautious about the FPS improvement and note that user experience could differ.

The picture seems a bit rough, I’d be cautious about interpreting it.
